Wrestling: Leer Busts in Atlantic City
Teaneck grappler lost in pre-quarters, consolation bracket.
Despite a strong start, Teaneck's Nate Leer won't get a shot at the NJSIAA state wrestling championship this Sunday.
Leer (171) opened the weekend tournament in Atlantic City Friday by beating Boonton's Marlon Duque 7-4 in the preliminary match before losing to Ross Scheueman of Allentown in the pre-quarterfinals. He was pinned at the 4:37 mark.
Things didn't go much better for Leer on Saturday when he lost by pin a wrestleback match against Lenape Valley's Mike LaBell. The loss knocked Leer out of state play.
