A man making car repairs is being treated for injuries after the minivan he was fixing fell on him Monday morning.

Bystanders were able to help remove the vehicle from the 57-year-old man at the Park Ridge Apartments on Walnut Street after the jack slipped while the victim made brake repairs around 11 a.m., said Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

The three who came to the man's aid—identified by the chief as Erik Kelly, 43, Brian Hock, 52, and Jonathan Pasquarelli, 29—were able to reinstall the jack and remove the man from under the minivan before emergency responders arrived on the scene.
