Drone Caught On Video By Ocean County Sheriff's Office; Who's Flying Them Still Unanswered
Ocean County Sheriff's officers are using drones to investigate and said the drone they say was larger than hobby drones, a report said.
OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — The Ocean County Sheriff's Office captured video of an unidentified drone as sighting reports continued to come in from all over the county over the weekend.
The video, published by News 12 New Jersey, showed a drone that the sheriff's office was tracking for a time on Saturday evening.
The sheriff's office told News 12 New Jersey that it is using drones with thermal cameras and wide-lens cameras to look into sightings, which were reported in the western and southern parts of the county.

The drone captured on video was larger than the ones flown by hobbyists, officers told News 12, and were flying about 60 to 70 mph.
Calls to law enforcement in multiple communities prompted an alert from the sheriff's office telling residents to call the FBI (800-225-5324) if they see a drone, instead of calling 911, except if there in the case of an emergency.

Police departments also were telling residents to call the FBI to report sightings.
Reports of a fighter jet chasing or following a drone in Brick on Friday were not true, according to officials at the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD.
"There were no NORAD fighter aircraft in that area," Air Force Lt. Col. Andrew J. Scott said Friday night in response to a Patch inquiry. Scott citing authorities on the operations floor at the 601st Air Operations Center at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida.
