TOMS RIVER, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.
This submission comes from Patricia Trustan of Toms River, who nominated Cliff Baker of Toms River for his efforts leading A Need We Feed, which has gone from providing 250 meals a week to 800 during this crisis.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Cliff Baker has gone above and beyond during this pandemic. Cliff holds down a full-time job but has still managed to increase the weekly meals that A Need We Feed provides to families, veterans, seniors and homeless from about 250 meals to almost 800 meals per week.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Cliff works 7 days a week on organizing the increased demand for meals. He has several local restaurants that provide meals at a reduced cost and a dedicated group of volunteers who pick up and deliver meals to those in need.
