Forecast Prompts Changes To Toms River Christmas Tree Lighting
The Christmas tree lighting celebration and performances in Downtown Toms River will be held, but with some changes.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — With rain in the forecast for Friday evening, there will be some changes to the Toms River Christmas tree lighting festivities, officials with Downtown Toms River announced.
The musical performances and other entertainment will be moved inside Mancini Hall in the Ocean County Library, for everyone to enjoy in dry comfort.
Toms River Fire Dept., Company 1 will be serving hot chocolate and treats, and they are asking people to bring an unwrapped gift for the Toys for Tots drive.

Debbie O's will be stationed outside the library with treats for all.
The event kicks off at 5 p.m. with music inside Mancini Hall. Here is the entertainment schedule:

- 5 p.m.-5:20 p.m.: Toms River High School South Choir
- 5:25 p.m.-5:45 p.m.: Microphonics
- 5:50 p.m.-6:05 p.m.: The Dance Center
- 6:10 p.m.-6:25 p.m.: Elsa “The Ice Queen”
- 6:30 p.m.-6:50 p.m.: Donovan Catholic
- 6:50 p.m.-7 p.m. – Reading of “ 'Twas the Night Before
- Christmas”
At 7 p.m. Santa Claus will arrive by firetruck and Mayor Maurice Hill and dignitaries will light the tree.
Winter Wonderland is set to be held as scheduled on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 9, from noon to 6 p.m. both dates.
There will be vendors, holiday treats, holiday activities for families, story time with New Life Church of Toms River, dance performances by The Dance Centre and more.
