Holt Family Reflects on Shooting Death of 6-Year-Old Son

The father of Brandon Holt, the 6-year-old shot by his 4-year-old neighbor while playing in their Toms River neighborhood on an April evening, recently spoke about comforting his son moments after the fatal accident.

"I pretty much knew it wasn’t going to be good, but I had hope," Ronald Holt says in an in-depth NJ.com article detailing the shooting and its aftermath.

Brandon was struck in the eye by a bullet from a rifle, and that image has bothered his father more than any other from the tragedy, he says in the article.

Anthony Senatore, the father of the 4-year-old, faces child endangerment and disorderly persons charges and spoke briefly to NJ.com.

"I mean — it, it’s tough for everybody," he says in the article.

Senatore’s father says: “this is not entertainment for anybody. ... This is not for people to watch (the) news or read in the newspaper."
