Man Indicted In Wife's Slaying In South Toms River
Gustavo Juarez-Perez told a dispatcher he had killed his wife on March 8; the children were in the next room, authorities said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A South Toms River man has been indicted in the slaying of his wife in March, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.
Gustavo Juarez-Perez, 38, was indicted Wednesday on charges of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the death of his wife, Cheyanne Juarez, 30, on March 8, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Police were called to a home on Hummel Drive about 9:15 p.m. on March 8 for an unconscious female and found Cheyanne Juarez unconscious on the floor with blood on her face and a belt around her neck, authorities have said. She died at the scene in spite of lifesaving attempts.

Gustavo Juarez-Perez called 911 and told the dispatcher, "I killed my wife," according to the probable cause affidavit in the case. When the dispatcher asked if she was conscious, he said, "no, she is dead," the document said.
He went on to tell the dispatcher he had hit Cheyanne and used his belt to choke her.

"I lose control," he said, and alleged Cheyanne had cheated on him multiple times and had confessed to doing so. "I was so upset and I lose control."
Authorities arrested Gustavo Juarez-Perez at the home. He has been held in the Ocean County Jail since that night. Juarez-Perez also has an immigration detainer, according to Ocean County Corrections records.
