2 Pedestrians Killed In Toms River Identified
The two, a man and a woman, were trying to cross Fischer Boulevard when they were hit, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Authorities have identified two people who were struck and killed as they crossed Fischer Boulevard on Tuesday night.
Craig Parson, 72, and Debra Wright, 68, both of Toms River, died of their injuries at Community Medical Center in Toms River, police said.
Police were called to Fischer Boulevard just north of Hazelwood Road at 6:55 p.m. and found Parson and Wright had been hit as they were trying to cross the road from east to west, police said.

Sholto Roach, 18, of Toms River, was driving north on Fischer Boulevard at the time and hit the pair in the right travel lane, police said.
Roach was treated for non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, police said.

Fischer Boulevard was shut down for about three hours while the incident was investigated, police said. No citations have been issued.
Officer Eric Nelson of the department's Traffic Safety Unit is investigating, assisted by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
