Marijuana Distribution Probe Leads To 2 Arrests In Beachwood

The men were charged with maintaining and operating a drug production facility in addition to distribution, police said.

BEACHWOOD, NJ — Two Beachwood men have been charged in connection with a marijuana distribution investigation in Beachwood, police said.

Juan F. Florez-Castano, 32, and Andres Mauricio Restrepo-Gil, 31, were arrested Friday after authorities executed a search warrant at the home where they live on Beachwood Boulevard, police said.

Both men were charged with first-degree maintaining or operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility, second-degree manufacturing, distributing or dispensing a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Beachwood police said.

Police did not provide details on the drugs that were seized during the search but according to Ocean County Corrections records, the drug distribution charge was for more than 5 pounds but less than 25 pounds of marijuana.

Restrepo-Gil also was charged with possession of cocaine, police said.

Both men also are being held on immigration detainers, according to the jail records.

The investigation is continuing and Beachwood police said additional charges could be filed.

Beachwood police thanked the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, the Ocean County SWAT Team, and Beachwood Code Enforcement for their support in the investigation and the execution of the search warrant.
