Pair Struck, Killed On Toms River Road Remembered As Caring, Warm

Family members of Debra Wright and Craig Parson were seeking help paying for their funeral expenses.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A man and woman who died after being hit by a vehicle on Fischer Boulevard on Tuesday are being remembered as loving, caring people who filled the world with joy.

Craig Parson, 72, and Debra Wright, 68, were killed when they were hit just before 7 p.m. by a vehicle driven by Sholto Roach, 18, of Toms River, as they were crossing near Hazelwood Road, police said.

They were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River but succumbed to their injuries, police said.

"It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the tragic loss of Debra Wright and Craig Parson," the family members wrote in a GoFundMe campaign set up to help pay for their funeral.

"Debra and Craig were warm-hearted, loving, and caring individuals who brought joy and light to everyone they encountered. Their untimely passing has left a deep void in the hearts of their family, friends, and all who knew them," the family said.
