Press release from the Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce:

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Greater Toms River Chamber of Commerce (GTRCC) is excited to announce that Marina Papanikolas has been named the next President and CEO.

Papanikolas will succeed Danielle Norcross, who will be leaving at the end of August 2022 after 12 years with the Chamber and the last 2 ½ years as President and CEO, in which time the GTRCC assisted its members through the pandemic and the Chamber reached a membership milestone of 400 members.

Papanikolas’ appointment is the culmination of a search that included highly qualified candidates, but in the end the best candidate for the job was already a key member of the GTRCC.

“We are thrilled to have Marina as our new President and CEO and confident that her knowledge of our membership and community involvement will serve her well in this new position,” said Philip Brilliant, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GTRCC. “She has a deep knowledge of the Chamber operations, passion for pro-business advocacy and community impact and a vision for the future. Marina has been and will continue to be a true asset to the Chamber as the organization moves forward.”

Since 2018, Papanikolas has served as the Director of Business for the GTRCC, managing all finances of the organization including the budget and financial statements as well as working side by side with the CEO. Papanikolas has been a major part of the success of the GTRCC during her tenure, helping the Chamber surpass the 400 membership goal earlier this year and maintaining financial stability during the pandemic.

Papanikolas is active in the community, especially as an active volunteer and educator at Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River. Papanikolas is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing & International Business. Marina lives in Toms River with her husband Tasos, and her 3 children, Gianna, Kosta, and Yianni.

Papanikolas begins her tenure as President and CEO on August 30, but has already hit the ground running working with Norcross on a smooth transition. GTRCC holds at least 3 in-person networking events monthly and has 2 major events this fall with their Annual Golf Outing on September 15th and Annual Awards Dinner on October 20th.
