Power Outage Affecting 1,800 Homes, Traffic Signals In Toms River

Downtown Toms River is affected, along with parts of Island Heights, Berkeley Township and South Toms River.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A power outage that has left more than 1,800 homes and businesses in Toms River without electricity has also knocked out traffic signals on Saturday night.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office said the power outage has affected traffic signals in downtown Toms River.

There are small outages in Island Heights, South Toms River and Berkeley Township as well, according to Jersey Central Power & Light, which is estimating power will be restored about 10:30 p.m.
