Registration Open for OCC Fall and Summer Classes

Ocean County College has also partnered with New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey to offer an Introduction to the Teaching Profession 24-hour program

Ocean County College is now taking registration for summer and fall classes.

For summer courses, those interested in attending college can register until Sunday, May 19 for the first five-week and ten-week session. Classes start Monday, May 20.

Registration for the second five-week and six-week sessions goes until Tuesday, June 25. Classes start Monday, Aug. 5.

Ocean County College is also taking registration for fall courses, which start Wednesday, Sept. 4 and run for 15 weeks. For some courses, students may be required to take the College Placement Test.

New full-time students must complete orientation prior to registering.

Students can register in-person Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays until 4 p.m. in the Registration Records Office in the Administration Building on College Drive in Toms River.

Registration is also taking place at the Southern Education Center in Manahawkin, Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays until 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays until 3 p.m.

Additionally, Ocean County College and New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey are offering the Introduction to the Teaching Profession — 24-hour program on the main campus in Toms River.

The registration deadline is one week prior to the start of classes. Class sessions include Friday, May 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This program is a prerequisite from the New Jersey Department of Education for all Certificate Eligibility applications. The program consists of 20 hours of class work and four-hour classroom observation.

Upon successful completion, students will receive documentation to apply for their Certificate of Eligibility.

Students must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher to qualify for New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey.

Tuition for this program is $200 per session.
