Public notices announcing the transfer application gave the restaurant's location as 1201 Hooper Ave., which is the Ocean County Mall. However, the restaurant's website lists its pending address as 1250 Hooper Ave., across the street from the mall.

An email to the company seeking a date for the opening was not answered as of 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The restaurant company, which opened in 1993 and is based in Kentucky, has more than 580 locations in 49 states, including nine in New Jersey. The Toms River location would be the first in Ocean County.

Texas Roadhouse is known for hand-cut steaks — steaks make up 44 percent of its menu — and its ribs, and touts its "made-from-scratch sides and fresh-baked bread."

In addition to the steaks and ribs, they offer 15 varieties of margaritas as well as other alcohol. They are a "dinner-only" restaurant, with lunch available only on the weekends.
