Three Hospitalized In Toms River Accident
Second accident on Route 35 also being investigated

Toms River Police are investigating a motor vehicle accident that occurred at about 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at New Hampshire Avenue and White Oak Bottom Road which sent three people to local hospitals.
According to eyewitnesses interviewed by police, Irene Williams, 87, of Scholar Place in Toms River, was driving her 2010 Hyundai Sonata east on White Oak Bottom Road and stopped at the stop sign, then proceeded onto New Hampshire Avenue, according to Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.
Her vehicle collided with a southbound 2010 Nissan being operated by 44-year-old Mcno Laguerre, of Eatontown.

Williams was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash. The driver of the Nissan and two passengers in his vehicle were transported to Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, with minor injuries, said Mastronardy.
New Hampshire Avenue was closed for two hours between White Oak Bottom Road and Silverton Road, Mastronardy said.
Assisting in the investigation, which is being led by Corporal Frank Palino, are officers Brian Doyle and Stephen Austin and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.
In a separate accident Wednesday morning accident, police say James Tweed IV, 43, of Willow Road, was driving on Route 35 South at about 6:30 a.m. when his 2013 Toyota left the roadway struck a utility pole and then went thru a vinyl fence at West Cormorant Way. Palino is investigating that accident, as well, from which no injuries resulted.
