Hops And Hockey: Toms River Craft Brewery Creates NJ Devils-Themed Beer
Toms River Brewing created the beer, Stick Toss, as part of a three-year partnership with the New Jersey Devils.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Toms River microbrewery has signed on for a three-year partnership with the New Jersey Devils to provide a specialty beer for sale at the NHL team's home games.
Toms River Brewing will produce Stick Toss specifically for the Devils, and the brew will be on sale at the Prudential Center Saturday when the puck drops on the team's 2022-23 season, a news release from the two organizations said.
The specialty brew, which also will be available for purchase at local retail outlets as well as at the Route 37 brewery, is described as an easy-drinking, Kölsch-style ale. The partnership is part of the team's celebration of its 40th year in New Jersey, and Toms River Brewing is the first craft brewery in the state to have a partnership with the team.

Jim Dowd, a Brick Township native and member of the Devils' 1995 Stanley Cup championship team, was among the first to taste the new brew, joining Devils fan Andrea Parker, who won a "Be a Brewmaster" sweepstakes the team held that also allowed her to tour Toms River Brewing.
"We’re beyond excited to be partnering with the New Jersey Devils," said Toms River Brewing owners James Mulligan and Augustin Isernia. "We foresee a very bright future ahead between our organizations. It is a unique opportunity to give back to the fans and we’re very honored to have both of our teams working together."

"When we get to go to the game it's going to be huge," said Matt Hynes, the vice president of brewing operations. "To be a small craft brewery drinking our beer with the Devils, it doesn't get much more than that."
The Devils will host two viewing parties at the brewery, which was established in 2018, during the 2022-23 regular season, where fans will have the opportunity to visit the tap room to watch a Devils game and interact with a Devils alum, team officials said. Viewing party dates and details will be announced in the coming weeks.
"It's great to have the Devils down in this area, it's just good for the community," said Dowd, a forward on the team that won the first of the Devils' three Stanley Cup titles. "To have the footprint this far south is great."
"We’re honored to partner with Toms River Brewing to launch this unique New Jersey-brewed, Devils-themed beer," said Adam Cross, senior vice president of corporate partnerships sales for the team. "We’re excited to watch our fans toast throughout our 40th season with a beer that celebrates our history, our team, and our state."
