ATV Hit Trees, Kills Toms River Man In Ocean County Forest, Police Say
Brandon Orozco-Avila, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash off South Hope Chapel Road, Jackson police said.
JACKSON, NJ — A Toms River man was killed Saturday when the ATV he was riding hit a tree in a wooded area in Jackson Township, police said.
Brandon Orozco-Avila, 28, died at the scene of the crash that was reported at 6:18 p.m., Jackson Lt. Fred Meabe said.
The crash happened in a rural trail area in the Clayton Pits, behind the Pine Barrens Golf Course off South Hope Chapel Road, Meabe said.

The preliminary investigation determined Orozco-Avila was driving on the dirt trails when he lost control of the ATV and it veered off into the heavily wooded area, striking numerous trees, he said.
The crash remains under investigation, Meabe said. Anyone with information is urged to call Jackson Police Officer Zachary Rodina at 732-928-1111.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Department Criminalistics Investigation Unit and the Ocean County Medical Examiner also responded and assisted in the investigation, Meabe said.
