The Toms River Police Department will host a Police Open House this weekend at the department headquarters.
According to police spokesman Ralph Stocco, the event on Sunday will be an opportunity for residents to "educate themselves about their police, fire and emergency management departments along with many other critical resources provided by the Township of Toms River, and by Community Medical Center."
Residents will be able to interact directly with officers, and there will be displays of equipment, motorcycle and K9 demonstrations, bicycle registration and a bicycle rodeo for children. The department will also offer free bicycle helmets.
"Come on down and spend your lunch getting to know your local police officers and the services available in our great town," said Stocco.
The event will be held this Sunday, May 18, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at police headquarters, located at 255 Oak Avenue.
