Guest Hid In Closet, Refused To Leave: Bloomingdale PD Blotter

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ — Bloomingdale police made several arrests between March 13 and 19, including for an unwanted guest in a whole who is accused of stealing money, breaking a phone, and hiding in a closet inside the home. Read about those arrests, as written by police, in a blotter here:

On 3/13/19 at 09:35 hours, Ptl. Sami Zeidan stopped a motor vehicle on Hamburg Turnpike. In speaking to the sole occupant, Nicolas Stoilas (38) of Bloomingdale, Ptl. Zeidan observed signs of C.D.S. use. An ensuing search of the vehicle yielded a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance which is suspected to be cocaine along with an item to ingest same. Stoilas was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was charged with possession of C.D.S., possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of C.D.S. in a motor vehicle. He was released pending his court date. Sgt. David Terpstra assisted with the search and arrest.

On 3/14/19 at 17:09 hours, Sgt. David Terpstra and Ptl. Sami Zeidan responded to a residence on Hamburg Turnpike in which the resident advised that an unwanted guest had stolen some money, damaged a cell phone and was hiding in the residence refusing to leave. In searching the residence, officers found Tony Laterra (24) of Palisades Park hiding in a closet. He was arrested and transported to headquarters. He was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, hindering apprehension, resisting arrest and several additional charges. He was transported to Passaic County Jail. Lt. Robert Ressland and Det. Daniel Greenwood assisted with the arrest.

On 3/15/19 at 07:53 hours, Ptl. Antonio Calabro stopped a motor vehicle on Hamburg Turnpike. After initially speaking with the driver, Ptl. Calabro spoke with the passenger, identified as James Frank (29) of Bloomingdale. Ptl. Calabro learned that Frank had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Paterson. He was transported to headquarters for processing. Unable to post bail, Frank was turned over to officers from the Paterson Police Department. Ptl. Gary Walker and Ptl. Kyle Parrill (Riverdale) assisted with the arrest.

Also on 3/15/19 at 15:32 hours, Ptl. Antonio Calabro stopped another motor vehicle on Hamburg Turnpike and recognized an occupant as being Catherine Lowell (37) of Bloomingdale. It was learned that Lowell had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing. She was able to post bail and was released.

On 3/19/19 at 14:00 hours, Sgt. David Terpstra was following up on a complaint on Star Lake Road and in speaking to an individual identified as Brent Boulanger (29) of Palmerton, PA, it was learned that Boulanger had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Bloomfield. He was transported to headquarters for processing where he was able to post bail and was released
