Kinnelon Unveils New Outdoor Summer Art Camp
In July, Bernadine Ferrari will be leading an outdoor summer art camp at the Municipal Football Field Complex.
KINNELON, NJ – The COVID-19 pandemic has forced summer camps across the United States to halt their programs, leaving many would-be participants without concrete summertime plans.
Although Kinnelon’s own Recreation Discovery Camp cancelled its summer 2020 session in June, the borough recently unveiled plans for a new outdoor art camp in July. Under the instruction of “superstar art teacher” Bernadine Ferrari, Kinnelon announced, children will have the opportunity to take part in “two amazing weeks of creativity.”
According to an official Facebook statement, Ferrari will be holding two camp sessions this summer. The first session, held from Monday, July 20 to Friday, July 24, will be geared towards children in first through third grade. The second session, held from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31, is meant for children in fourth through sixth grade. The camp will run from 9 am to 11 am, and each weekly session will cost $85.

To ensure that safety precautions are met, the camp will be held outdoors at the Municipal Football Field Complex, with a large tent shielding participants from the sun and/or possible rain. On top of being socially distanced while creating their art projects, campers will also need to wear masks periodically, submit to a daily temperature check, and complete a health questionnaire and waiver.
