St. Anthony's CYO Basketball program is still on top even though the school is closed.

Working with only three teams this year and limited gym time the 50+ year old program is still alive thanks to CYO coordinator Scott Mefford.

The two boys teams grade 5 and 6 and grades 7 and 8 will open the playoffs at home this Monday. The first game will start at 7 p.m. for the 5/6 boys and the second game, 7/8 boys, will start at 8:15 p.m. in the St. Anthony's gym on Bartholdi Avenue in Butler.

The 7/8 boys have only lost two games this season and finished tied for first place in the regular season as they look to advance closer to a championship game.

The only girls team, 7/8 grades, after a bye in the first round, will be looking for a win away at St. Anne's in Fairlawn at 7 p.m. The team has enjoyed an undefeated season (10-0) under head coach Al Marion and looks to win the Group 4 Colonial Division.

If the boys win Monday night they will play Round 2 at the St. Anthony's gym on Thursday night.
