Thomas Manning II for Kinnelon Board of Education

Thomas Manning II is asking to serve the kids on the Kinnelon Board of Education this Election day.

Thomas Manning ll resides in Kinnelon with his wife, Camille, and three children. Their children are currently enrolled in the Kinnelon School District, providing him with a vested interest in the education system in our community. In addition, as a homeowner, he is also concerned about rising taxes and how money is allocated for the education of our children.

In these uncertain times, we need a business leader and parent on the Board!
Covid has created situations where parents have become more involved in assisting in education in ways that they have not done before; with virtual, hybrid, quarantine time and busing transportation issues.

• More than ever, it is critically important to have Board Members with children that are attending our schools to fully appreciate the impact of both administration and BOE decisions regarding our students and tax money.
• There is too much division within the BOE that has impacted the smooth functioning of our District and led to dissention in the community.

• The voice of the kids needs to be heard when it comes to mandates and other health issues..

Thomas Manning II, with over 30 years' dedicated service to our Country as a Captain in the United States Air Force and defense industry, has the leadership qualities it takes to bring our community together. He will use these skills to enable the BOE work together for the common goal of ensuring the best education possible for all of our children.

Thomas Manning II has the business experience to oversee the School District’s 43 million budget. He has risen the ranks in the private sector, becoming the General Manager in charge of all business operations at Electro-Miniatures Corporation. In this capacity he has complete responsibility for all operations and the business for defense products.

Thomas Manning II holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and has published numerous scholarly and professional papers on various topics. He is a leader in high level positions working on military and commercial aircraft and defense equipment.
