Woman Struck By Car on Glenwild Ave. Suffers Head Injuries

Driver issued summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

A Bloomingdale woman suffered head injuries after she was struck by a car in a crosswalk on Glenwild Avenue Friday night.

The woman, 54, was walking near Captolene Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. when she was struck by a car being driven by 40-year-old Feryal Guler, also of Bloomingdale, according to Bloomingdale Police Ptl. Dan Fletcher.

The pedestrian suffered injuries to her left hand in addition to her head and was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad. Chilton Hospital paramedics also responded.

Fletcher said Glenwild Avenue was blocked off from Hamburg Turnpike to Delazier Place while police investigated and first responders assisted at the scene.

Guler was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
