CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Three incumbent town council members were recently re-elected to their seats in Cedar Grove.

Voters in the township went to the polls last week to cast ballots in the 2025 Cedar Grove municipal election.

Three incumbent council members ran unopposed: Melissa Skabich, Michele Mega and Kerry Peterson. Voter turnout was at 4.43 percent (502 ballots cast out of 11,322 registered voters).

Here are the uncertified results of the May 13 election, as per the Essex County Clerk’s Office (100 percent of districts reported):

  • Michele Mega – 460 votes
  • Kerry Peterson – 449 votes
  • Melissa Skabich – 454 votes

Council members are elected at-large for four-year terms, by the voters of the municipality through a municipal election held on the second Tuesday in May (in odd number years).
