Angelina's Army of Restaurants Donates Proceeds to Girl With Cancer

A number of area businesses have joined Angelina’s Army of Restaurants to help a local family whose young daughter is undergoing cancer treatment.

The restaurants listed below have agreed to donate 20% of proceeds on specified nights of the week to help her family offset costs of ongoing medical care and treatments. (See attached PDF for details.) The fundraiser begins on Monday, July 8 and is expected to run through August.

Angelina, who turns 4 this summer, was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma earlier this year. Her mother, Danielle Phillips-Edelman, grew up in Verona and now lives in Parsippany, while her grandmother still lives in town.

"I volunteered to handle Angelina’s Army of Restaurants and have been updating them via e-mail," family friend Lori Lyon said. "They are so thankful that the restaurants and media are working together to help Angelina."  

Approximately 650 children a year are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in the U.S., according to Wikipedia. The cancer often originates on one of the adrenal glands.

Angelina’s doctor has given her a 50/50 chance to beat the cancer and the Phillips-Edelman family has been told the five-year survival rate for children with Neuroblastoma is 35%.
