Bomb Threat Found in Boys Room Evacuates Cedar Grove High School

Cedar Grove Police investigating incident that disturbed classes Monday afternoon.

A bomb threat evacuated Cedar Grove High School around lunch time Monday, township police said. 

The high school on Rugby Road was evacuated at 12:36 p.m. when police responded to a call that a written bomb threat had been discovered in a boys bathroom.

The Essex County Sheriff's Department Bomb and K9 Units searched the school, but no explosive devices were found, according to Chief Richard Vanderstreet.

Students were allowed back in the school and classes resumed around 2 p.m.

The Cedar Grove Police Det. Bureau is investigating the threat.
