Colorectal Cancer Educational Forum Tuesday in Verona

Verona Live, Mountainside Hospital hosts event at Verona Community Center.

Verona Live, in cooperation with Mountainside Hospital, will host an educational forum and information on colorectal cancer Tuesday at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave., Verona.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a disease that is the third-most common cancer in both men and women. It is also the most beatable cancer — if it is detected early.

Florey Cruz-Cerpa, community health manager for Mountainside Hospital will be on hand beginning at 10 a.m. to address the risks of the disease and discuss how prevention can save lives.

All participants will receive a free colorectal cancer education and EZ-Detect kit. Participants will also be entered into a raffle for a prize.

Support for the program has been provided by the U.S. Administration on Aging and United Jewish Appeal, funded in part through a grant from The Partners for Health Foundation.
