Dark Knight Shooting Hero Grew Up In Verona
One of the heroes of the Dark Knight mass shooting, a 24-year-old man who threw himself on top of his girlfriend when the shooting began, lived in Verona until he was 13.
Teves was with his girlfriend Amanda Lindgren when the shooting began and he threw himself on top of her when gunman James Holmes opened fire during the premiere of the latest Batman film.
Mitch Martin, who bought Teves' Verona house when the family moved to Phoenix 11 years ago said “They were very nice people and seemed like very good parents.”
O'Toole Assails Influence Charges
State Sen. Kevin O’Toole is fighting accusations he tried to use his influence to garner support for the judicial nomination of former state Attorney General Paula Dow, according to a story in Tuesday’s Verona-Cedar Grove Times.
O’Toole told the newspaper he is considering filing defamation charges after state Sens. Nia Gill, Richard Codey and Ron Rice signed a letter to state Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner alleging the former Cedar Grove mayor tried to use his influence to gain support for Dow.

According to his attorney, Kothari, the Cedar Grove resident who was back in 2011 may soon begin litigation with the township of Cedar Grove
His usual bill for a quarter was around $110.
Cedar Grove Police Nab Bank Thief
Cedar Grove police have arrested a 34-year-old West New York man who grabbed a Newark woman’s misplaced envelope containing $1,000 in cash left at a local bank.
Police said they used bank video surveillance to arrest Alain Aviles-Tamayo July 17 after he was identified as the person who picked up the envelope with the woman’s cash.
The woman had left the envelope on a table inside the Bank of America on Pompton Avenue and discovered the money and envelope missing when she returned, police said.
