The band Faux Johnny, made up of Cedar Grove and Verona musicians, recently rocked the stage of The Stone Pony during the First Showcase of the 2014 Rock to the Top competition.  Faux Johnny will appear this weekend at <a href="https://verona.patch.com/groups/around-town/p/our-lady-of-the-lake-hosts-annual-oktoberfest-kinderfest">Kinderfest</a> on Friday, Oct. 5, at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona. Next month, the group will compete in the Battle of the Bands for Books, a fundraiser to help fill a new elementary school library in Guatemala. The event, sponsored by the Montclair Women's Club, will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 6 in Montclair.Faux Johnny is Patrick Cicchetti (bass and vocals), Alex Campbell (lead vocals and guitar), John Friel (guitar and vocals), all from Cedar Grove, and Giancarlo Cordasco (drums) of Verona.
