Madeleines, Macaroons and More Taught at New Baking Studio

Classes at Chocolate Ciel will be taught by owner Colleen Klabin, who studied at the French Culinary Institute.

A new baking studio in Cedar Grove will offer baking classes for adults and teens, as well as Mommy and Me classes.

Classes at Chocolate Ciel (or Chocolate Sky) will be taught by owner Colleen Klabin, who studied at the French Culinary Institute in New York.

Klabin began her career with custom orders, including weddings, offering French pastry, decorative cakes, and even organic and vegan desserts. Word of mouth quickly spread and soon Klabin was baking custom desserts for restaurants, including Toast and UpTown, both in Montclair.

She'll share her techniques for cake decorating as well as baking muffins, cookies, and more. Adult classes will include baguettes, croissants, madeleines, macaroons, and holiday cookies.

All classes will begin with a demonstration followed by hands-on baking. Students will leave class with the recipe and baked goods.

Chocolate Ciel, 9 Sand Park Road, will also host private events (birthdays, bridal or wedding parties, corporate events, baby showers, etc.), as well as conduct private classes for small groups.
