Police Blotter: Drug Arrests, Burglaries and Hit & Run
The following information has been provided by the Cedar Grove Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

April 30: A man and woman were arrested at 9:56 a.m. when police responded to the area of Pompton and South Mountain avenues on a report the pair were arguing.
Police arrested 48-year-old Christopher J. Romano of Newark after discovering he had several outstanding warrants issued by Newark and Fairfield courts.
Romano was processed and released pending court appearances.
The woman was arrested after police discovered she was in possession of items they believe may have been stolen from Kings Supermarket on Pompton Avenue in Verona.

April 30: A 22-year-old Verona man was issued summonses at 5:07 p.m. after an eyewitness saw him hit a parked car several times in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot at 387 Pompton Ave. and drive away.
Dmitriy Guzner was located after a police investigation and arrested. He was charged with failing to report a crash, leaving the scene of a crash and careless driving.
Guzner will appear in municipal court on the charges.

April 30: A 29-year-old Little Falls man was arrested for driving with a suspended license after police stopped his car at 7:07 p.m.
Alex E. MacPhail was processed and released pending a municipal court date. His 2004 Lincoln was impounded.

May 1: A Brooklyn man, who was stopped for speeding, has been arrested on charges of marijuana possession, use and distribution.
Cedar Grove police say Matteo Digrigori was stopped at 12:26 a.m. after police said he was speeding. The officer detected the smell of burning marijuana coming from the car and on Digrigori.
After a search, officers found several bags of marijuana in the car, along with drug paraphernalia and several hundred dollars in cash believed to be proceeds of marijuana sales.
Digrigori was processed on the charges and released pending a Wednesday arraignment in Superior Court in Newark.

May 1: A 22-year-old Montclair man was arrested at 1:52 a.m. after a police investigation revealed he was driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Meimei La was processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.

May 1: A 32-year-old North Bergen man was arrested at 4:37 p.m. after a police investigation revealed he was driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Luis A. Davila was processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.

May 5: Cedar Grove police are investigating burglaries to two commercial businesses in the Sweetwood Stores on Pompton Avenue.
At 6:03 a.m., police discovered someone smashed the front glass doors to Zandstra’s Deli and the Como Bella Nail Salon.
Further investigation determined cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets had been stolen from Zandstra’s. Nothing was reported stolen from the nail salon.

May 5: A 19-year-old Montclair man was arrested at 2:51 p.m. for possession of several bags of marijuana when police were called about a report of a suspicious occupied car.
Jacques A. Foushee 2nd was arrested at the intersection of Eileen Drive and Ledgewood Court. He was processed on the charges and released pending a municipal court appearance.

May 6: An East Lindsley Road resident reported the theft of the spare tire mounted on the back of his parked 2002 Honda CRV.
The resident said the theft occurred sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning while the car was in his driveway.
The cost of the stolen tire was about $150.
