Bicycle Thefts In Wall Prompt Police To Ask For Public's Help

Two bicycles were stolen in Wall this past weekend, and police hope information from the public might help locate them.

WALL, NJ — Two bicycles were stolen last weekend in Wall, and the police hope tips from the public can help locate them.

Saturday night, June 3, between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. the bike in the photo above was stolen from the woods off of the Camp Evans parking lot near Monmouth Boulevard and Watson Road.

And on Sunday, at approximately 2 p.m., a white Electra Cruiser was stolen from the yard of a residence on Evans Road.

On the police Facebook site, one resident commented that one bike owner only had his bicycle for three weeks.

Police also remind residents to always lock your bike when you leave it unattended.

Meanwhile, police also reminded residents about bicycle safety practices:

  • Always wear a proper fitting helmet.
  • Don't ride distracted, keep two hands on the handlebars at all times.
  • Have an audible device on your bike.
  • Follow traffic signals and abide to all traffic laws.
  • During night rides make sure to have a white light on the front of your bike and a red light on the back.
  • Wear bright visible clothing when riding.
