'Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives' To Feature 3 NJ Restaurants This Month
Guy Fieri rolled into the Jersey Shore for a visit and stopped in to some local restaurants. See when you can catch his take on their menus.
MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Three Monmouth County restaurants are getting some love from the Food Network in August.
While the three are appearing on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," it's safe to say that label doesn't really fit any of them. Fieri visited the trio — two in Avon-by-the-Sea and one in Bradley Beach — as part of the 40th season of the show.
Cavé Bistro in Avon made its debut Aug. 2 on the "Fistful of Flavor" episode, where Fieri sampled the pan-roasted achiote octopus and the grass-fed beef roasted marrow burger. The restaurant, at 515 Sylvania Ave., is farm-to-table and 100 percent gluten free, according to the website.

The "Fistful of Flavor" episode is set to air again at 11 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2 a.m. on Aug. 18, and 5 p.m. on Sept. 13.
On Aug. 30, Skratch Kitchen in Bradley Beach will be highlighted in the "All Over the Plate" episode. Fieri will chow down on Cajun clams and a dish described only as "prime-time pan-seared chicken."

The restaurant, at 812 Main St. in Bradley Beach, describes its offerings as a "custom-designed rustic menu to ensure you will enjoy high-quality food with memorable flavors." The episode debuts at 9 p.m. on Aug. 30, with repeat airings at midnight on Aug. 31, 11 p.m. on Sept. 7, and 2 a.m. on Sept. 8.
The third restaurant is Seed to Sprout in Avon, with its vegan menu, on the "Grand Slam Sammy" episode. Fieri will be tasting the beet burgers and the tempeh melt.
The restaurant, at 410 Main St. in Avon, promises "the most nourishing and delicious food we possibly can ... made with whole foods, organic ingredients, purchased locally whenever possible."
The food is 100 percent vegan and preservative free, the website says.
That episode debuts at 9 p.m. Sept. 6 and repeats at midnight Sept. 7.
"Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" has highlighted more than two dozen New Jersey restaurants over the years, many of them in Mercer County and South Jersey. You can see some of their top picks in New Jersey online.
