DWI, Armed Robbery, Warrant Arrests: Wall Police Blotter

Wall Police reported three incidents of driving while intoxicated from Oct. 23 through Oct. 27.

WALL, NJ — Wall Police reported incidents of driving while intoxicated, armed robbery, warrant arrests and more from Oct. 23 through Oct. 27.

Oct. 23
Jeffrey Kniffin, 50, of Wall Township was arrested following an armed robbery at the Bank of America on Route 35 and 18th Avenue.

Kniffin was charged with robbery while using a firearm, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was processed and brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

Leah McCarthy, 47, of Staten Island, was arrested at a motor vehicle stop on Route 34.

McCarthy was charged with driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, driving while intoxicated with a minor in the car, hindering her own apprehension, and presenting a driver’s license which identified her as another.

She was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law, which requires police to impound the driver's vehicle for 12 hours following their arrest. To be released from custody, the driver must also contact someone who will take responsibility for them and ensure they don't drive while under the influence.

Oct. 25
Gabriella Barbara, 53, of Manasquan, was arrested following an investigation into a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on New Bedford Road.

Barbara was charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, refusing to submit breath samples, reckless driving, being an uninsured motorist, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

She was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Oct. 26
Martha Diaz-Ivanez, 43, of Brick, was arrested at a motor vehicle stop on Route 34. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, and processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

Oct. 27
Abdulkareem A. Oshodi, 28, of El Paso, Texas, was arrested following a suspicious vehicle investigation in the Garden State Parkway commuter parking on Belmar Boulevard.

Oshodi was found to be a fugitive from justice with an arrest warrant out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for eluding police. He was processed and brought to the Monmouth County Correction Institution, where he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania.
