Gun-Toting Masked Man Makes Off With $5K From Wall Bank: Prosecutor
Jeffrey L. Kniffin, 50, of Wall, was arrested and charged Wednesday afternoon, prosecutors said.
WALL, NJ — A man has been arrested following an armed robbery at a Bank of America in Wall, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.
Jeffrey L. Kniffin, 50, of Wall, was charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of hollow point bullets, prosecutors said.
Police responded to the Bank of America on Route 35 after receiving reports of a robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Once officers arrived, they learned that a man wearing a mask, glasses, a ball cap, black hoodie and gloves had entered the bank, brandished a firearm and stole over $5,000 in cash before fleeing the scene.
An off-duty Wall police officer was driving near the bank when he heard about the robbery and saw a man riding a bicycle that matched the suspect's description.

From there, the officer followed him to his home on M Street, where Kniffin was then arrested.
Kniffin is currently being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending his first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.
