Police: Drunken Driver Slams Utility Pole

Authorities arrest North Carolina man on disorderly conduct charge

A Tinton Falls man was charged with drunken driving Friday after police said he struck a utility pole at the intersection of Gully Road and Brighton Avenue.

Sung Choi, 43, had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Glendola Fire Department and Wall First Aid Squad when police investigated his one-car crash at 11:55 p.m. Friday. Authorities said Choi was driving drunk when he left the roadway and struck a utility pole, thereby dislodging a power line. JCP&L was called to the scene to repair the line and pole.
