Wall Bakery Looks To Beat Largest Cake Pop World Record: Report

WALL, NJ — Chocolate Carousel, a Wall-based bakery, will be unveiling what they say is the Jersey Shore’s largest cake pop at their Cake Pop-A-Palooza event on Saturday, according to a report from nj101.5.

Weighing in at over 100 pounds, the bakery is aiming to beat a Guinness World Record for the largest cake pop, the report said. Owner Lisa Porada told nj101.5 that the idea to break the world record came to her earlier this year.

“I researched and found the largest cake pop in the world weighed 97 lbs.,” Porada said. “And that was the current record, so we are trying to beat that record.”

According to the report, Guinness wanted $16,000 to certify the record because the bakery is a business entity. Since Guinness wanted such a large payment, Porada told nj101.5 the bakery decided to go without Guinness and break the record for themselves.

Tickets to the Cake Pop-A-Palooza are $5 per person, according to the bakery's event page.

Admission to the palooza includes two cake pops from the bakery’s hands-on dipping station, apple cider donut poppers, a selection of drinks (cider, water, coffee, or tea) a kids' cake pop coloring station and more.

107.1 The Boss will be on hand providing entertainment at the event with their prize wheel. Attendees will be able to enjoy prizes, giveaways, swag and games.

“You don't want to miss this fun family afternoon,” event officials said. “You can take a picture with the giant cake pop to post on social media and we will have an Ice Cream truck in the parking lot with frozen treats available for purchase.”

The event will run from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are available until 5 p.m. on Friday.
