Wall Target Slated For 2022 Opening

WALL, NJ — The long-awaited Target store will open in Wall Township in 2022, according to a Target spokesperson.

The 91,000-square-foot facility is located at 1835 State Route 35 in Wall and will replace the long-running Kmart, which closed in December 2019.

According to Target's corporate website, a grand opening date has not yet been announced but has been confirmed to be in 2022. “As we get closer to opening the store, we’ll have more specific details to share, including how the shopping experience will be tailored to serve local guests and the grand opening date,” said Target officials.

The Wall Planning Board approved Target’s final site plan for the remodeled store in December 2021. According to planning board documents, the plans called for new signage, an enclosure for an existing loading dock, and new drive-up parking stalls in the building's rear.

Target has nearby locations in Ocean Township, Howell Township and Brick.
