9-11 Heroes Run Today in Somerset County

The 2015 9-11 Heroes run will begin at 2 p.m. today in Somerville.

• Exhibits: A “First Responder Park” will be on display in the main parking lot, near the start line. This exhibit will encompass First Responder: equipment, vehicles, and personnel for all to view and connect with.
  • This is a family friendly event and we encourage kids to come out to connect/learn from the First Responder displays.
• Agenda: Times subject to change, Race will start at 2pm
  • 12:00 pm - Exhibits are open to public
  • 1:30 pm - Opening ceremony (Rutgers Honor Guard & National Anthem)
  • 1:45 pm - 5K Participants form up in start lane.
  • 2:00 pm - 5K Race Starts
  • 2:15 pm - 1 Mile Family Fun Walk Opens
  • 3:15 pm - Medals Ceremony
  • 4:00 pm - Event closes
• Medals:
  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze place medals – enough to cover the
  • Top 3 male and top 3 female winners for 11 different age categories (that’s 22 gold, 22 silver, and 22 bronze medals total)
