Award Winning Eyebrow Artist Opens Medical Spa In Warren

WARREN, NJ — It's time to get beautified as a new medical spa has opened in Warren by award-winning eyebrow artist Lauren Cruz.

Cruz, a Kenilworth native, opened her location of The Body Department in Garwood in 2019 and has now expanded to open her second location at 513 Warrenville Road, Suite 4 in Warren.

"I'm doing OK. I am kind of a risk-taker and I knew I wanted to get more locations so when the opportunity presented itself I jumped at it," said Cruz.

With 10 years of experience in her industry, Cruz, an eyebrow and body waxing specialist, previously was working at the European Wax Center before opening her own business.

The idea to open her business came to her at 2 a.m. one night when she couldn't sleep.

"This was during a time I felt lost in the direction that I wanted to go in with my career. I felt stuck at my job and it wasn't feasible long term to continue doing my other services from home," Cruz said.

Being a mother of two, working full-time and going to school at the time did not seem feasible until she was able to open up her own spa where she could make her own hours.

The fruits of her labor are paying off as Cruz was recently awarded 2020 Waxer of the Year by The Skin Games. And now she is sharing her talent in Warren.

The Body Department offers full body waxing, permanent hair removal, full-service eyebrows such as tinting, laminating, micro-blading, and Laser Teeth Whitening. The Body Department also has professionals who offer facials, massage, and eyelash extensions.

"I am really focusing on eyebrows now such as eyebrow definition, eyebrow laminations, and the classic brow," said Cruz.

Eyebrow definitions are giving your eyebrows a tint and the classic brow is getting a wax with a full consultation on how to map and style them.

Cruz also offers Vagisals which includes a Brazilian wax and a "facial for the top part of your vagina" including steam, hot towel, and extraction.

For her new location, Cruz is offering a free classic brow treatment or 20 percent off the service of your choice.
