Daniel Croson Appointed To Fill Open Warren Township Committee Seat

Croson was appointed on Thursday night to fill Michael "Mick" Marion's term through the end of 2023.

WARREN, NJ — Daniel Croson was unanimously appointed by the Warren Township Committee on Thursday night to fill the remaining term of Michael "Mick" Marion.

"I am humbled and honored to have been selected to serve out the remainder of Mr. Marion’s term on the Township Committee," said Croson at the meeting. "Just as I’ve done during my time on the Board of Education, I will continue to stand up for our residents and work tirelessly to keep Warren a great place to live, work, and raise a family."

Croson was among three candidates who were vying for the open seat. The other two candidates included Frank Dwyer (who serves on the township Planning Board), Barry Argiro (a certified public accountant).

Deputy Mayor George Lazo thanked Dwyer and Argiro for their "interest in serving with the Republican party and as volunteers in the town."

Warren Township BOE Vice President Patricia Zohn congratulated Croson on his new appointment to the Committee.

"Croson has served on the Warren Board of Education with distinction since January of 2022. I know I speak for many when I thank him for his faithful service to the residents of Warren as a board member and recently as a president of the board," said Zohn.

Prior to being elected to the Warren BOE, Croson began working in local government as the Director of Community Development for the Borough of Carteret. He was then elected to the Carteret School Board at the age of 22.

Croson is the Treasurer of the Warren Republican Municipal Committee and is also a member of the Warren Lions Club and the Warren Honorary Police Benevolent Association (HPBA). He is also a former member of the Warren Recreation Advisory Committee.
