Female Sheriff's Officer Accused of Sex Harassment in Somerset County Denied Public Hearing: Report

Yesterday, a female officer for the Somerset County Sheriff's Office was denied the request to open her disciplinary hearing to the public.

Yesterday, a female officer for the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, accused of sexually harassing male officers, was denied the request to open her disciplinary hearing to the public.

Amy Alfano, an 18-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, said she will be unable to expose the “culture of sexual harassment” at the sheriff‘s office if her hearing is held in private. Due to a conflict of interest, the hearing was moved to Morris County from Somerset County, according to nj.com.

She is accused of talking about preferred penis size, showing officers naked pictures of herself, and touching other officer’s genitals, according to court documents. Alfano denies the allegations and claims she was targeted after complaining about being disciplined for using her cell phone in the courthouse.
