Firefighters Extinguish Basement Fire

Warren, Watchung and Bridgewater firefighters responded to a fire reported in the basement of a house at 40 Morning Glory on Monday afternoon. 

The fire was first reported at about 3:30 p.m. and was out shortly after fire crews arrived.

Firefighters were called back several hours later, however, when smoldering embers in furniture caused another fire at about 7:50 p.m. 

The cause of the fire was traced to an electrical short, police said.
