Historic House to Celebrate Christmases Past and Present
Join Revolutionary War soldiers and other colonial reenators at the Jacobus Vanderveer House for an old fashioned Christmas.

Canon blasts might be an unusual way to mark the Yuletide season, but not if you're visiting the historic Jacobus Vanderveer House in Bedminister.
The sounds of John Lamb’s Artillery encampment are just part of the charm of the Colonial Christmas fundraiser, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, and Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 5 through 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The fundraiser, held by the Vanderveer Friends group, will feature the John Lamb’s Artillery, Revolutionary War soldier reenactors. Lamb's Artillery was based at the Pluckemin Cantonment during the winter of 1778-1779 under the command of General Henry Knox, according to a press release.
Other features welcoming visitors include house tours; holiday shopping with boutique vendors and artisans; Colonial holiday decorations by The Rose and Radish Floral Design; Colonial musicians and re-enactors; and Santa visits. The house's permanent exhibits will also be open. They include the Kitchen Hearth, The Vanderveer Parlor, The Knox Bedroom, The Lumber Room, and the recently opened Prich Matthews History Center.
Money raised by the event will benefit Vanderveer exhibit development, historical interpretations, and educational programs.
Admission is $10 for adults. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
