The Right Candidates at the Right Time and for all the Right Reasons

JOLANTA MAZIARZ AND GREG PRZYBYLSKI:
THE RIGHT CANDIDATES, THE RIGHT TIME, FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS
ON JUNE 4TH, the voters of Warren Township will go to the polls to decide who shall fill the two open seats (expiring terms of Gary DiNardo and Vic Sordillo) on the Township Committee.

If there was ever a time in which I felt a duty to share my observations and thoughts concerning a local Township Committee election, that time is now.
As a resident of Warren for over 30 years - along with my wife Carol and two (now adult) children, both products of the Warren Township K-8 and Watching Hills Regional High School - I have been witness to many government-driven changes in our community over the years. Some were good changes; others not so good.

Like it or not, that is generally how government works. Winston Churchill may have said it best when he once quipped (some debate on his exact wording) that democracy was the worst form of government - except for all the rest.
Presuming Mr. Churchill was correct in his characterization of democratic rule (he was indeed), even a democracy (federal, state, or local) can quickly go off the rails if the leadership loses its focus on the core mission.
That core mission, or primary function, of any local government body is to secure and maintain the safety, security, and well-being of the residents whom it serves. A key measure in the execution of those functions is to listen and respond to the needs of its constituents, placing those needs far above any political agendas, popular trends, or quests for personal gain.
Under the regime-like rule of the current Warren Township Republican County Committee a.k.a. Republican Municipal Committee, or simply RMC, consisting of 26 elected Committee Members (2 from each of Warren’s 13 voting districts), there appears to be an “old guard” mentality that seems less focused on its constituents and more focused on maintaining its status quo by endorsing “hand-picked” candidates deemed loyal to the local political machine and the perceived local government “bosses”.
That’s a real problem for me and if you care at all about the future of Warren Township as impacted by the mindset of the RMC and our local governing body, you should be very concerned as well.
The good news is that more recently (at the last Township Committee election) the well-informed public voting block by large majority elected Shaun Fine and Vanessa Kian, and in doing so, sent a clear message that the township residents did not support the RMC-chosen candidates Dan Croson and George Lazo.
So what did the RMC do in response? They simply set their sights on to the upcoming election cycle on June 4th and with shameful disregard for the populous - and in yielding to the edict of their political boss or bosses - they once again gave the nod to Dan Croson along with a newcomer Lance Blick…how sad.
But wait, more good, no, it’s GREAT NEWS…former Warren Township Committeewoman JOLANTA MAZIARZ, Esq. and former Watching Hills Board of Education President, Dr. GREGORY PRZYBYLSKI, both lifelong residents of Warren Township, are RUNNING FOR THE WARREN TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE as a team under the slogan “TRUE REPUBLICANS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS”.
Jolanta and Greg’s background, experience, and qualifications to serve as members of the Warren Township Committee (much too voluminous to enumerate upon herein) are beyond reproach. They have also established a line of community-minded candidates for election to the RMC, a body that is in need of a meaningful overhaul. Btw, you can identify your voting district by going to https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/pollimg-place-search and inputting your address.
On the issues, Jolanta and Greg have set out a very sound and prolific vision (again, too voluminous to detail, but you can check out their website gregandjolantafor warren.com for the specifics) to address such key issues as taxation, land use (preservation and development), supporting/enhancing public safety, and ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Above all else and even beyond their vast experience, knowledge, and credentials, Jolanta and Greg possess not one, but two VERY ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES in government services: SKILL AND INTEGRITY. They have the skill to get the job done and the integrity not to lose their bearings along the way. I make this claim not only as someone who has studied their past work from afar and contemplated their insightful campaign platform, but also as a most fortunate individual who has been given the valued opportunity to serve with them in government…with Greg on the Warren Township K-8 School District Board of Education; with Jolanta in her former capacity as the Planning and Zoning Board attorney in a municipality outside of Warren where I serve as the Local Fire Official.
FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS, FOR A BETTER WARREN TODAY, AND TO LAY THE GROUNDWORK FOR A BETTER WARREN IN THE FUTURE, PLEASE SUPPORT JOLANTA MAZIARZ AND GREGORY PRZYBYLSKI FOR TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE.
