Mount Saint Mary Star Swimmer to Compete at Providence College

Katie Fallon, of Warren, will bring her talents to Providence College's swim team next year.

Katie Fallon, of Warren, a senior at Mount Saint Mary Academy, will compete on the Providence College swim team for the next school year. Fallon signed a letter of intent on Nov. 15 in a special ceremony on the school’s campus.

The Providence swim team has "a very supportive program and everyone wants what’s best for you,” Fallon said.  “I’m also looking forward to the level of competition in the Big East.”

Fallon was named First Team All-County and Second Team NonPublic in the 500-freestyle last season at the Mount. She was also selected to the All-Area Girls Swim Team by the Courier News.

In addition to swimming for the Mount, Fallon is a member of the Somerset Hills YMCA and is preparing for the National Championships in short course and long course this spring.  The Mount swim season gets underway shortly as the team prepares to follow up on last year’s Non Public B state title.

“Katie always gives one hundred percent and the team knows they can always count on her,” said Mount Saint Mary swim coach Megan Decker.  “She is so dedicated.  She is a team leader with a lot of spirit and a lot of talent.”
