"The Mt. Tammany Red Dot Trail which leads up to a beautiful vantage point with spectacular views of the Delaware Water Gap is not a leisurely stroll. The terrain is rated as "Moderate" and it is rugged and rocky with steep ascents and descents. I took my time and did the 3.5 mile hike in 3 hours and 45 minutes today. There are lots of nice boulders and logs to sit and rest on along the way. On the descent down from the summit on the blue trail there is a nice creek and some small waterfalls and a lovely wooden bench to sit on and admire the beauty of nature. The trail is nicely marked the whole way, but still I do recommend a trail map or at least written directions which are readily available on various hiking websites. This trail is located within the Worthington State Forest and the trail is well maintained. Be sure to wear proper footwear such as hiking boots because you are walking on mostly uneven rocky ground. I also advise caution for anyone who has ankle or knee problems because this is not an easy hike. All in all, I did have a fabulous time doing the hike earlier today."

2. Wagner Farm Arboretum: Family fun in the gardens, and great for next Halloween.

"This was a cute little trip to get excited for Halloween. A path of intricately carved pumpkins displayed every which way you can imagine. The carvings included animals, famous people, locations, trees, flowers, etc. Very creative and beautifully displayed with lights. After the pumpkin path you can walk through a little haunted garden/gazebo area. Not too scary and plenty of light for the kids. Light refreshments at the end for purchase."

3. Jenny Jump State Forest: Like to camp, this just may be the perfect place.

One reviewer from Hillsborough NJ said

"We camped at Jenny Jump and stayed in the cabins. They are very comfortable. They have 2 sets of bunks, a wood burning stove and built in shelves for your storage. The restrooms & showers are close by. They are situated away from the tent and RV area. It was very quiet & peaceful. we had a wonderful time camping at Jenny Jump & cant wait to return again this year. I highly recommend it!"
