Somerset County's Edelman Captains U.S. Soccer Under-20s To Next Olympics And World Cup
Daniel Edelman is headed to the World Cup and the Olympics with his U.S. Soccer Under-20 teammates after a stellar CONCACAF showing.

WARREN, NJ — Daniel Edelman of Warren is headed to the World Cup and the Olympics with his U.S. Soccer teammates on the Under-20 squad.
Warren, who also plays for the New York Red Bulls, captains the U.S. side. The 19-year-old midfielder was a standout soccer player at Watchung Regional Hills High School.
The U.S. Under-20 Men's Youth National Team beat Honduras on Friday 3-0, at the Estadio Morazán in San Pedro Sula, according to a news release from U.S. Soccer.

Edelman was involved in the third goal, playing a through ball for teammate Caden Clark to assist Quinn Sullivan for the score.
The squad is qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.

The U.S. won the U-20 CONCACAF championship for the third year in a row Sunday, as well, scoring six unanswered goals on the Dominican Republic. CONCACAF, a confederation of national soccer organizations, also includes Canada, Mexico, and countries in Central America and the Caribbean.
