The show centers on New Jersey real estate couple Michelle Pais and Jonathan Steingraber who, in each episode, renovate a new home in New Jersey in just 24 hours.
Gonçalves was already working with Steingraber's real estate company Signature Realty to stage homes prior to the show. So when he landed the deal for the show he asked her to come on board.

"This is my element. Staging is what I do, what I love to do," Gonçalves told Patch. "It's like the cameras aren't there."
Gonçalves is only given 12 hours to come out and see the home, figure out a plan for design, pick out furniture and accessories, load up the truck, and stage everything.
"That's what makes the show really hard. Under normal circumstances, I have a week to plan my staging. Take measurements, pick out accessories, pick out colors, etc. Here I don't know what the final product will look like... It's challenging but it's fun."
Gonçalves had previously worked in the interior design business for 20 years before she was laid off.
She was going to stay home for a bit but was asked to help stage a home that was going on the market in Warren. Just for fun she shared the photos of the finished product on social media which caught the eyes of real estate agents and So Chic Home Stylist was born about 5 years ago now.
Since launching her business, she has worked with celebrities such as Teresa Guidice of the Real Housewives Of New Jersey to stage her living room, office, bathroom and three closets to get the Towaco house television-ready prior to filming of the new season and also ready to sell. She also worked on HGTV's show Lakefront Bargain Hunt to help design a home in the Poconos.
"You know the saying, 'When you love what you do, you don't work a day in your life?' Well it's true," said Gonçalves. "I work a lot more hours than before but I love it. I don't mind getting up at the crack of dawn, I really found my passion."
