Zumba for Seniors Begins Wednesday at Warrenbrook Center

Latin dance and exercise craze offered for all levels of fitness.

The Somerset County Warrenbrook Senior Center, located on the golf course at 500 Warrenville Road, will host Zumba Gold classes, starting Wednesday, Sept. 18. Advance registration was required.

Zumba combines Latin and international music with easy-to-follow dance moves.  Classes will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 25, Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, and Nov. 6. The eight-week program fee is $40, or $5 per class.

Classes are designed for all levels of fitness; no prior experience is needed.  Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement for exercise. Comfortable shoes that provide ample support are required.

Payment and completed registration forms should be mailed to Barbara Karpinski, Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, PO Box 3000, Somerville, NJ 08876. Checks can be made payable to the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services (SCOOADS).

Somerset County senior centers offer a wide range of experiences designed for lifelong enrichment in a social and uplifting atmosphere, intended to positively impact overall health. Many of these programs are funded, in part, through the Older Americans Act.

The center is operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services and is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
